ELLISS-3 is a lightweight mobile system designed to carry out near-surface seismic refraction / reflection profiling, microseismogram logging, vertical seismic profiling, crosshole seismic testing, MASW and seismic microzonation. The station can be used to perform engineering and geophysical surveys in the water area using continuous seismoacoustic profiling (СSP), high-resolution (HR) or super-ultra-high-resolution / super-high-resolution (SUHR / SHR) seismic surveys.
The number of channels in station is determined by the Customer and can vary from 1 to 96. The built-in channel switch (option) allows not only to increase the productivity of operations, but also to achieve more uniform seismic data density, what is especially important for CDP and MASW methods. Also, the channel switch actually doubles the “channel capacity” of the station, what can also be used for seismic refraction operations in order to obtain longer hodographs or when performing seismic microzonation, wherein the operator can switch between vertical and horizontal channel seismic arrays.

In ELLISS-3 it is possible to perform full control of both the station itself and the connected cable system with seismic receivers. Shockproof construct, high-quality gold-plated connectors, low power consumption and low circuit noise ensure high performance and quality of the data. The station is compatible with any seismic sources such as “weight drop”, “sledgehammer”, “single-shot”, “Geoton”, “Yenisei”, etc.

Borehole sparker Pulse is utilized to generate pressure waves in water-filled boreholes while performing the operations via crosshole seismic testing (CST) and vertical seismic profiling (VSP) methods. The operation of the Pulse source is provided by the energy sources Jack.
The borehole source SHock is utilized to generate pressure (P-) and shear waves of horizontal polarization (SH-waves) in wells while performing the operations through crosshole seismic testing (CST) and reverse vertical seismic profiling (RVSP) methods. The energy source Jack is used as the source of energy.
