TELSS-3 is a lightweight telemetry seismic station that deploys four-channel digital modules connected in series by cable sections thus forming the receiver line, which can accumulate up to 200 active channels. One cable section comes with 4 connectors for coupling the geophones. Each telemetry module "serves" 2 nearest geophones in the line "to the right" and 2 – "to the left". The receiver line is connected to the interface module, which in turn connects to a laptop or an operator's tablet via USB cable or Wi-Fi (depending on realization).
As a result of usage of data digitization telemetric modules, the distance from geophone to measuring channel is reduced, what increases the noise immunity of the system from induced interference and decreases the mutual influence between channels in seismic cable.
TELSS-3 seismic station is widely used for engineering and geophysical surveys, as well as for studying the upper part of the section. Employing the telemetry sections with different steps between receiver points, the same seismic station allows studying the different depths.
